GAM-Farming

GAM-Farming is the newly established agriculture division of the GAM-Group, focusing on commercial farming, processing, and significant job creation in The Gambia. Phase 1: Core Cultivation and Production The initial phase centers on establishing a 50-hectare farm in the Lower River Region with a highly efficient crop rotation schedule to ensure two annual harvests: • Primary Harvest (October–March): Focus on tomatoes, with an expected annual yield of 4,000 tonnes. • Rainy Season Harvest: Cultivation of Okra (1,700 tonnes) and Bell Peppers (650 tonnes). • Sustainability: To avoid monoculture and improve soil health, the division practices crop rotation, including Soybeans (for nitrogen enrichment) and Maize. S. 6 Export Strategy & Revenue The core revenue driver is the export of high-value processed goods: • Sun-Dried Tomatoes: All tomatoes will be sun-dried on-site for export. • Export Volume: This is projected to generate up to 20 containers of dried tomatoes annually, equating to an estimated export volume of €3 million per year. Socio-Economic Impact & Employment GAM-Farming places a strong emphasis on socio-economic development and sustainable practices: • Job Creation: The operation will create 50 full-time positions and an additional 400 seasonal jobs during harvest times, providing employment opportunities, particularly for unskilled local populations and predominantly women. • Ethos: The division is committed to environmentally responsible practices and prioritizes manual labor where feasible to maximize job creation. Future Expansion and Processing Infrastructure GAM-Farming has access to a total of 200 hectares of land for future growth. Immediate expansion plans include: 1. Second Farm (10 hectares) & Third Farm (50 hectares): These will incorporate new processing facilities. 2. Processing Hub: The planned infrastructure includes cold storage, shock freezers, deep freezers, and advanced drying facilities. 3. Local Sourcing and Value Chain: This processing capacity will enable GAM-Farming to purchase and process perishable local produce (such as Mango, Papaya, and Avocado) from local smallholder farmers. This critically addresses the current problem of high spoilage rates due to a lack of infrastructure, stabilizing the market and improving farmer income. 4. Value-Added Products: Future plans include a factory for producing tomato paste and juice, further stabilizing the tomato market for local growers during peak harvest. By 2030, GAM-Farming plans to expand its cultivation to include Moringa, Groundnuts (Peanuts), Sesame, and Cotton.

GAM-Trade

GAM-Trade is the re-focused trading and distribution division of the GAM-Group, leveraging the established infrastructure and licenses of the former BA Trading entity. Former Focus: Import & Distribution BA Trading previously focused on the import, marketing, and nationwide distribution of food and beverage items from Europe, serving a broad B2B customer base including hotels, restaurants, and mini-markets as a wholesaler. The company achieved strong market penetration, notably securing exclusive distribution rights for premium European brands such as the German soda brand Afri Cola and the German premium beer Germania. However, operations were paused due to significant challenges, primarily the sharp increase in freight rates and rising import duties, particularly on alcohol. S. 3 New Strategy: Export Focus GAM-Trade is now pivoting its strategy to focus predominantly on export activities. The primary objective is to manage the international distribution of products originating from the GAM-Group's other internal divisions: GAM-Farming and GAM-Fishing. This shift is significantly supported by the existing assets of the former BA Trading division, which include necessary and valuable export licenses. Crucially, GAM-Trade possesses one of the rare export licenses for groundnuts (peanuts) in The Gambia, providing a competitive advantage in a key agricultural export sector. GAM-Trade is therefore positioned to become the crucial global sales channel for the GAM-Group's locally sourced, high-quality Gambian products.

GAM-Fishing

GAM-Fishing is the integrated fisheries division of the GAM-Group, specializing in sustainable sourcing, state-of-the-art processing, and export. The division holds fishing rights and owns a strategically located 12,000 m² beachfront property in Brufut Ghana Town with authorization to construct jetties or harbour facilities extending up to 200 meters into the water. Processing Infrastructure & Cold Chain Integrity GAM-Fishing operates in a Joint Venture with Poseidon Seafood Company Ltd., which is currently constructing a cutting-edge processing factory scheduled to begin operations in December 2025. The facility is engineered for European-standard cold chain compliance and high volume: • Main Warehouse (960 m²): Features a dedicated 200 m² processing area and temperature control units: o Three temperature-reduction chambers capable of reaching for rapid freezing. o Two refrigerated storage units maintained at – 20 °C till – 40 ° C • Capacity: Production capacity is robust, ranging from 20 to 30 tonnes per day, depending on the product type. • Workflow: The facility is designed to maintain an uninterrupted cold chain from entry to container loading, using a sealed tunnel transfer system to preserve product integrity. Socio-Economic and Export Focus GAM-Fishing, aligned with the GAM-Group’s eco-social commitment, will manage the export of all processed products. • Supporting Local Fishers: The factory aims to provide local small-scale fishers with access to modern, hygienic, and certified facilities. This significantly reduces spoilage, leading to higher yields and income for the local community, demonstrating the division’s socio-economic focus. • Employment: The operation is planned to commence with 55 full-time employees, with a phased expansion target of up to 100 full-time jobs. GAM-Fishing is poised to become a vertically integrated leader in the region, delivering high-quality, cold-chain-compliant seafood to international markets while providing essential infrastructure and economic support to local fishing communities.
